Activities That Promote Regular Exercise

Here are a few everyday activities we do at home that can contribute to a good workout — or at least an excellent warmup to your real workout at home:

  1. Cleaning – That’s right, we finally have the time to clean those rooms we’ve been neglecting for the past few years. Believe it or not, cleaning can provide some valuable exercise and will even reward you at the end with a clean home! Now’s the perfect opportunity to get those hard-to-reach places, tedious chores, your garage, and even your attic.
  2. Gardening – We might be on lockdown, but the sun is still shining, and we have some beautiful months ahead. Honestly, there’s no better workout at home than gardening. It requires stamina, endurance, strength, and also a little bit of patience. You’ll also get some sunshine yourself, which is good for the immune system!
  3. Dancing – When’s the last time you had a fun night with the family? Cook a healthy meal as a group and follow it up with some uplifting music and lively dancing. Trust us, it’ll be much more enjoyable than doing the same thing in public, and you’ll create amazing memories with your loved ones.

You can turn any activity into a workout if you get creative enough. Not only will you reward yourself, but you’ll be multitasking with some tedious chores too!

Easy Exercises for a Home Workout

Outside of the daily exercise we get without thinking about it, you can efficiently work some quality exercises into your routine. One of the best ways to do this is while commercials are on, when you’re waiting for food to cook, or sporadically throughout the day.

Jumping jacks, lunges, planks, push-ups, planks, and high knees can all be achieved without the use of equipment. You can also use your stairs to add difficulty to your workout, while also utilizing a jump rope if you have one laying around.

Of course, you can always look up videos on YouTube or join weight loss programs online to challenge yourself!
